It's hard to believe that a year ago today (alright, a year and a day ago today), I wrote this post....
June 17, 2008It was an emotional day. Heck, it has been an emotional year! Even at the time I wrote the entry I knew, I just
knew that one day I would look back and know that it was all for a reason.
I am here today to say that Ivy Jane is the
best mistake I've ever made. I am grateful that I got to be the .01%. Not saying I want it to happen again by any means, but I'm glad she is here because life would be so sad if she was not! And I am so glad that the time has passed and that I made it through the last year!
What is the best mistake you ever made?

Best mistake I ever made? The boys! We fully intended to get pregnant, just not with more than one kid. And reading your year ago post brought back a lot of memories of the exact same feelings. Good job, you have weathered it well, and Ivy is beautiful! (And I love that in your post, you were confident that it would be a girl!)
well, baby #2, and #3- we found out that even if it takes a year to get pregnant the first time, it is really easy the second and really really easy the third time. I laughed when I found out i was pregnant with madi, and I cried when I found out I was pregnant with kyler, I was just not ready- but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I 100% agree with you sista. I love Ivy so so soooo much. She is the sweetest most beautiful baby. She truly was a blessing from Heaven.
Wow. I can't believe it's been a year! And in that year, how many pics of her? 1? Oh yeah. That's why I didn't recognize her!! Gosh, she is a doll!
The best mistake? The "OOPS" child. After all, I thought I wasn't ever going to have any more children. After all, my son was almost 9 when I got pregnant. After all, I had a high stress, high paying job. After all, I had brand new living room furniture. Etc. LOL
Best mistake? Likely my next baby. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have an oops at some point. Because that's how my life goes.
My biggest mistakes usually involve opening my mouth and inserting my foot. You'd think that would be harder to accomplish these days, but somehow, I still show a special talent for this.
I have to say your "mistake" is the most beautiful mistake ever. I like your kind of mistakes better than mine. :)
Best mistake we ever made was losing a few hundred thousand dollars in one year. I've learned so many great lessons that I wouldn't trade it for anything.
A few HUNDRED THOUSAND dollars?? Maybe it's a blessing I don't have that much to lose, because, yowzers.
Isn't it funny how time has a way of mending our distress? My mom used to say "Time plus Crisis equals Humor." But I didn't think that was as hysterical as she did, as she was laughing and snapping a photo of me with the worst perm EVER. But... I have to admit, it's true. And that picture is a CLASSIC. Maybe that was the best mistake ever. Totally worth it for the picture alone.
Uh... the above comment was mine. My bad.
