Woody

Pathetic fallacy. Ever heard of it?

It's when human characteristics are displayed in nature.

(Hello, Ms. Woodward? I may not remember the proper use of a semicolon but look at me pull out that writing device definition! Way to retain!).

Pathetic fallacy is what happened to me today. It rained for the first time in nearly a decade (or at least that's how long it feels like it has been). It rained because I am leaving Texas and the sky wept on my behalf. Or more likely - it rained because I had a photo shoot scheduled with Ralphie, and that is just how things are going with this move.

Check out the results here!.

I had a horrible dream last night about you and woke up freaking out because it all seemed so real.... Then I checked google reader and saw your pics and knew that everything was still okay. It was THAT scary of a dream (nightmare, really). Boo.

Thank you for making such a positive difference in my life in your short time here. Your new ward family is very lucky. Now run and make the best of the great things yet to come!! :)

Kristi, I know! How about bringing Ralphie with you to Utah? Then I could meet her and she could take pictures of my children!

Pathetic fallacy, nice! That's one that I remember too, for some reason. I dunno, maybe cause Woody was a slave master.

In a good way. Seriously, I look back on her as one of the best teachers I have ever had.

Yeah, moving is an emotional roller coaster. That's the downside to trying out living in several different places--after that, someone's always missing, no matter where you go.

Oh, a word to the wise: if you don't already have a Texas star, get one. I didn't, and I wish I had. You know, just the bronze-ish (or painted, whatever) stars everybody hangs on their wall. We have happy memories of Texas.

I like the post about pathetic fallacy and all the other sweet and clever comments. I have to say, however, that the most profound thing said I think is Angela's comment. I've never thought about it in such clear terms but that is EXACTLY why our life has felt so complicated for so long now--no matter what we do now, there is always someone (several someones actually) missing. There is no ideal place to live because there is no place that has it all. Luckily there are so many GREAT places to live. Here's hoping that Salt Lake will be the same for us as was Texas and all the rest!

I'm not sure when you'll read this since you're probably still moving across the world right now, but I need some advice! I'm trying to surprise Jared with a trip for his birthday and I don't know where to look for deals on airfare and hotels. Any tips? How is the move going? You're so much braver (and cooler) than I am :)Oh, and don't reply on my blog since I'm trying to surprise him. Email me at jill.bowcutt@thfonline.com.

I think you've convinced me to never move. Too hard to say goodbye to whichever group of people you are leaving.

The photos were awesome!
