Um, YES. Only I couldn't find the light version but the un-light version (featuring chocolate mint ice cream instead of vanilla) was only twenty more calories per serving. Each year I am so tempted by the cute little girls selling cookies outside of every store I go in to. I have a soft spot for thin mints. Blaine reminds me that I can buy the same cookies inside wal-mart for $0.99, only they are the "great value" brand. "But what about the CHILDREN!I want to support the children!" I remind him. It never works. Girl scout cookies are a whopping $3.50 a box this year, and the caloric content makes me shudder. The girl scout thin mint ice cream though (full fat version) is only 140 calories a serving (that is less calories than 2 girl scout cookies), plus the girl scouts still get $0.30. I think this means I can deduct the cost of the ice cream from my taxes, but I'm not sure. Go get some, and then invite me over to eat it with (for) you.Thursday, February 7, 2008
My kind of charitable contribution

Ooh yes, I adore that ice cream! Invite me over to eat some too!
Yah, looks like who ever has this icecream in their freezer is about to receive a lot of friendship. Right after dinner.
Girl Scout Thin Mint ice cream is sooooooo yummy. I look forward to it every year. But I have to say that as far as the cookies go, Samoas get my vote for the best. Oh so good! I was so disappointed last year because I ordered some Samoas from some Girl Scouts that came to my door and they never brought them to me. I was so bummed because I really wanted those Samoas. Mmmm...I'm getting hungry now.
I love Girl Scout Cookies, though they are not great (like you said) when tracking Points.
We love the Dreyer's/Edy's Slow Churned (1/2 fat). I am a picky ice cream eater and I have been converted! It really does taste great. Plus you get twice the ice cream-- anyone who has ever measured out a half cup knows that is like one big spoonful.
I laugh at ice cream serving sizes. Who really only has 1/2 cup? Anyway, you can probably at least double your calories, but I think that they're worth it. Ice cream, especially girl scout ice cream, is always worth it.
Hey Kristi! It's Sharon, from the yearbook days! I was excited to find your blog and see how great your doing! Your kids are cute and I'm jealous you live in Texas which I'm sure is a lot warmer than Michigan! Take care and enjoy the ice cream!
