Washing my hands of it...

Hi, sorry, me again. So do you think it is kind of weird to give someone soap / air fresheners as a gift? I totally don't. For my birthday my friend gave me two Bath and Body works hand soaps, and I LOVE those and thought it was such a fun gift. So much so that when it came time for me to go and get a gift for a party I marched straight to Bath and Body works to get two soaps (and a pair of really soft socks). The gift got "stolen" in the gift game a couple of times, so I felt pretty good about it. And I happened upon such a great deal at Bath and Body Works, that I bought $30 worth of soaps (for only $20 because I had a coupon, seriously, if you don't log on to your computer and search for coupons every time you go out shopping you are missing out). And so I have been giving them as gifts. Today as Blaine was headed out to work I sent him with a gift bag and two soaps for his boss (who is female)....and for the first time I thought "I hope it isn't weird to give soap as a gift". As in I hope it doesn't imply that you think the persons personal hygiene is found lacking or something. Same with the air fresheners. Ever since Chelon transformed my car from smelling like a skunk who had rolled in rotting milk, nay rotting buttermilk, into a little Christmasy smelling wonderland I have grown to think of Scentsy car air fresheners as the best thing in the world, and consequently bought several for gifts. Now I am afraid to give them away for fear that I am sending the message "dude, your car stinks".

Would you be happy to receive nice soap or a nice car air freshener or would you be offended?

I for one am not offended.

I have received lotions, soaps, bath beads, bath salts even body wash and have never been offended. I love that kind of stuff.

I would never think to be offended, as long as it's gift caliber stuff. The problem would be if went further down the "niceness scale." Straight bar soap like Irish Spring offensive? Maybe. Breath mints? Maybe. Deodorant and mouth wash? Probably. Febreeze? Probably. Your gifts are fine.

I think it's a great gift, although I'm surprised you didn't hold off on this post until after all of our soapy gifts had been given (some lucky readers out there may still have a surprise coming!) For the record, my boss seemed to love the gift. Great idea!

I think it's an awesome gift! :D I love getting lotions and perfumes! Except this one time...when my cousin Jan lived with us, none of us knew what to get him, and Christmas morning he ended up with like 5 body washes, 4 colognes, a loofa, a bar of soap, and deodorant. HAHA! He was like "Uhh...are you guys trying to hint at something here?" *teehee*

Not offensive. I am interested in these scentsy car fresheners of yours.

By the way, when are you going to do a post on all the sweet ways that you find deals all the time? I, for one, would never think of checking online before I go shopping to look for coupons. What would I do? Google "bath and body works coupons" or something? I thought I was a pretty good shopper, but I have left the online world totally untapped. And how do you get these online deals too? A little help, here.

yeah, I could only dream of someone giving me something that cool!!! I usually end up with the candles from KMart or the grocery store that have one of the Saints on them... or yeah, nothing at all... which was the case in my work place this year. Tis better to give tho, I say... and the Bath and Body Works is usually a hit!!

Smelly stuff is great! So I know this is like 3 months later, but I just wanted to comment on your having a girl. We must have the opposites! I have boy-girl-and will have a boy. Kind of funny!
