So this morning I was reading this article on MSNBC.com about how there is so much unclaimed property in the world and all you have to do is search a free database to find if your state is holding some of your unclaimed $. So I took the liberty of searching and found that Blaine has an unclaimed property! I took some more liberties and found that his cousin, three of his uncles, my Grandpa and a business that his extended family once owned also had unclaimed money. I feel kind of like I should get a finders fee. Seriously.
So go do your search!
http://www.unclaimed.org/
(be sure you go to .org not .com )
It's totally free and they will let you know how to claim the property and you can send my finders fee by cash, check, money order or paypal. Not kidding.
And for kicks after you do your search post on here if you found anything! It was super easy to search and you can just search by last names to see if your relatives have anything. Then you can charge your very own finders fee and we can all rejoice.
Utah's site didn't say how much Blaine's thing is for, but the Texas one did and his Uncle has 108 bones just waiting for him. I bet ours is like two dollars or something, but hey...two bucks!

Thank you! I decided to check out my Dad's name, he died over 20 years ago. I checked where we lived in Seattle. He has over $100 for payroll. I wonder how much it really is? I am off to call my Mom. I will let you know how much it turns out to be!
Wow! I've sent about 10 e-mails in the past 20 minutes letting people know they need to go claim their property. None for me...dang.
I'm really curious about Blaine's unclaimed property. Once a year the Deseret News publishes a big section on unclaimed property in Utah. It came out just a couple weeks ago. Every year I look for any familiar names. I've never seen Blaine's name listed. I'm curious to know so keep us updated.
It's making me so happy to see how many people are finding money! Blaine's uncles, us, Janae's family and all of Joey's peeps. Happiness! Love! Rainbows! Plus I just found out that if you go to KFC today you can get a piece of free chicken. If it weren't for the dang swine flu and tornadic thunderstorm headed our way I would say today is a pretty good day!
We had 31 cents for Trey once :)
My mom has some stocks that aren't worth anything anymore. But thanks for the link just the same!!
Hey, Kristi. Will you look up my name for Oregon and Utah and Arizona? (pre-marriage es Kartchner). I don't want to loggin. But if there's money, you can have, say, a certain percentage for your troubles.
Kristi~Sid said we had some money owed to us but I forgot to ask how much! Thanks for the tip!
