You shouldn't tell pregnant people that they are starting to show. Unless maybe it's their first baby. Because really, if they are starting to show, they already know it and if they are not yet starting to show it kind of makes them sad when you say that they are. Especially when really it is probably the last baby's remains that are showing, not the new ones. So, there is your tip for the day ;)

I agree! All I keep hearing is, wow, you're getting bigger, or my mom the other day said, you look so much bigger than when I saw you 2 weeks ago. That was a tough one to swallow. I mean, I know I am supposed to be getting bigger, and I know its a normal, healthy part of pregnancy but it still makes me want to go on a diet right when I hear that. I know, no dieting when youre pregnant, (nor would I, I love to eat) but it just makes you want to stop growing!! I am already worried about how I am going to lose this weight after Oct. Yikes!!
I agree - and it should also NEVER be said that you are about to pop (at the end).
Also, this tip from my sister-in-law's experience: never EVER ask a woman if she's carrying twins unless you know without any shadow of a doubt that she's carrying twins. 'Cause it makes her want to hit you (so my sister-in-law says) when she's not carrying twins.
When I was young I remember my mom saying to the Avon lady, "You haven't had that darn baby yet?" The poor Avon lady said, "Oh yes, I had it three weeks ago."
Truly -- it could be worse!
I must say, in all of my experience I don't think I've ever heard a man say this. Evolution (the pregnant woman) killed the ones stupid enough to say that many years ago. Take a page from our book ladies, just don't say anything at all. It's not beneficial to anything or anyone.
Okay, so I am totally the guilty party. I'm sorry, I hurt your feelings. But in my defense, when I first thought that you were "showing" was when I looked over at you in Sacrament meeting and I thought, "Man she looks pregnant" and it had nothing to do with the tummy region.
I thought you were beautiful and were glowing!
well when i was pregnant with kyler I had a lady ask me if I was going to have a boy this time when I was 10 wks!!! so not only did i look pregnant, it was so obvious it wasn't even a question! I actually think men are worse than women, women always say that i look small (they lie in other words) but men never do, well at least the ones that I meet. I get comments like " wow, you'r huge!", and when I get about 6 months they start saying i look like I am going to pop! I just can't figure out why the minute you get pregnant people think it is ok to tell you how fat you are! so yes, i feel your pain.
If I ever make a comment on another woman's growing belly, it is cause I think it is SO CUTE! I just look like I might be pregnant, but who really knows for sure, might just be fat. So well I see someone who really shows, I think it is nice to actually LOOK PREGNANT (and not like me, might just be fat, "you don't even look pregnant" but my pants don't fit, etc). That said, I agree, there are things you just never say to a woman, even in pregnancy and they are always size related!
