Today I went to Sonic for happy hour. It's what I do on Thursdays. I thought the total seemed a little high. I checked the receipt. They now charge for straws. Twenty cents.
That's fine, but I wasn't given the option whether or not I wanted a straw.
And that's all I have to say 'bout that.

So do we bring our own straws? And how could they just slip that in there, now we're charging for straws? Who does that?!!??
I would bring your own straw next time and tell them when you're ordering and see what they do. I want the update after you do it too. :-) Lauree

Seriously? Who does that? (Sonic, obviously...) That is hilarious and sad all at the same time. Now my mom's stash of extra straws she keeps in her glove box seems much more reasonable!

The good news is that I was only charged for one straw when in fact, I got two. So maybe they are buy one get one free? : )
Were they actually charging you for STRAWberries??? I could see them doing that but the more that i think about it i think it is just absurd to charge some one $.19 for a straw(s)
Maybe Sonic Happy Hour changed from 1/2 price drinks to 37% off drinks from 2-4 each day :)
