Proper Introduction...

Ah, finally a name. Just in the nick of time. The birth certificate lady at the hospital has been giving me grief for 24 hours now. Sheesh!
So, with no further ado...

I'd like to introduce ....

Ivy Jane Bassett

It's a long story, but we are so glad she has a name. For three seconds today her name was Lyla Jane; but then we changed it back to Ivy. I look forward to sharing that experience with you. But it's gonna have to wait till later!

Cute! She is so sweet. I think her face looks like Gwen's-- just lacking the hair. We liked Ivy too, but it seemed a little weird with the close to Christmas thing. Ivy and Eve are destined to be best friends.
Glad to hear you didn't bleed to death. :)

Congrats! Cute baby and name. My great-grandma was Ivy and I have always liked that name but know I would never be able to convince Jim to name our daughter that--plus we have the whole "J" thing. So I guess there is no connection between the heartburn/lots of hair thing! :)

It was the same way as Noel - we could not decide. - But I'm glad we did and I'm glad you did! Ivy is a great name for a sweet girl like her! I can't wait to meet her.

Remember the best time to take newborn shots is within the first 2 weeks of their life (no really, it is -- they are more pliable and sleep most of the time). Anyway, that would be pretty close with the wedding, hummmm! Think about it... You, me, Ivy.... hmmmmm....

holy hannah banana!!! (that's the first thing that came to my mind...) congratulations! I'm so happy she has a name! And happier that she's here! :) You are so blessed to have the friends that you do... I know this sounds funny, but I think all the time about you and your friends there in Texas and have secret dreams about having such wonderful friends too. I've been making a diligent effort to make some new friends too and it's a work in progress... maybe I'll blog about it
